May 22: Meteora...jk, Delphi

Well today was the only ALMOST full day we had for their trip, and I really wanted my parents to see Meteora so we planned on that for the day. This place is beautiful, made up of these very steep and tall mountain tops, and on the tips were monasteries that basically took up the whole top. These were hundreds of years old and really something magnificent. Online sites had told me that it takes 3-4 hours to get there, I got done class at 10:30, so we would get there around 1 or 2 and have a few hours there before it closed at 6. The day was planned tight but it was going to work.

Now you are probably wondering what happened. Well after putting it in the GPS and driving for a little, we realized it had estimated to take around 5 hours. This made our trip a little unrealistic, because with 6 monasteries, we would MAYBE get to see one with that little time, and then would get home late, after 9. We made a decision to go to Delphi instead, with a two and a half hour ride, it was much more reasonable.

We got there around 1:30 and had to run to the top because the stadium on the top of the mountain was closing a little after 2. The whole ruins were amazing, and since the only time I got to go before it was raining, it was nice to really be able to appreciate it for all it is. We saw all of the ruins and then went through the museum, my dad and I competing to take the better picture of everything. It was cool because, though I am not a history person, my dad really is. It was cool to see him and my mom get really excited over stuff.

Afterwards we got slushies and hopped back in the car for the drive back. When we got back, we hung out a little and then went out to a Japanese restaurant with Erin and Abby. Let me tell you how amazing it was to have sushi and rice and some good Asian food. Amazing. Amazing. So amazing.

Happy day :)
