After sleeping until we woke up...without and alarm, I enjoyed a nice pastry from the bakery, a croissant with nutella and banana in it, though I could only eat half because it was so ridiculously sweet. We then hopped in the car and drove to Vlichada Beach which was a beautiful black sand beach. I spent most of this day sleeping and sunbathing, the water was a little colder so I didn't take part in going in today.
We headed back early to shower so we could make it to Oia for the famous sunset. Once we got there, we had to walk a longgggggggg ways to get to where the view of the sunset is best. We would find a good spot but curiousity would kick in and we would want to see if we went a little further down if the view would be better. Eventually we stopped at a good spot for the sunset and got a zillion pictures.
Also a donkey tried to kill me...
Anyways, the walk back up was brutal, we were basically dripping (not literally...but close) in sweat by the time we got up. We stopped at the first restaurant we got to for dinner...probably the most expensive one. It was our last night (so we thought) so we were gonna go big. Waiter brought us water and between the time he gave us the water and when he brought out menus, we had all already chugged our water, suffering from heat exhaustion. He thought it was funny, though, and brought us more. We ordered 2 plates of calamari, some fries, and some bread. Oh and zucchini tempura.
After clearing the appetizers after only about 5 minutes, our waiter probably thought we were savages. We then completely cleared our dinner plates in a quick matter of time. We were loud and obnoxious, laughing so hard at everything and loving life. I'm sure every couple hated us, as this was a pretty romantic getaway place, not one man there was unaccompanied by a female. We didn't care though, Santorini has this way of making you forget all of your cares and just drink in the relaxation and happiness.
We got lost on the way home, but when we finally got back we were able to relax. Again we laughed just a little too loud on the patio outside and someone, in our neighboring room, knocked from the inside of their door. We stopped and got silent, all looking at each other wondering if we really heard that....when it happened again. We grabbed our things and ran inside, terrified of whatever was going on because we are big babies. About an hour later we went to bed. Great times.
